Memphis Radio Station WDIA Presents The Jus` Blues Music Awards Show As Media Sponsor
Memphis Clear Channel powerhouse WDIA has partnered with Jus` Blues Music in presenting the 2007 Jus` Blues Music Awards Show. 1070 WDIA-AM has been an originator in presenting Blues & Soul music to the Memphis populus since 1948. With 50,000 watts of "Soul Power"and progressive programming, the station has become a strong influence particularly to African-American listeners and Blues & Soul music fans from Memphis down into the Mississippi Delta. WDIA has an interesting documented history on their web site at www.mywdia.com. The impact of WDIA playing music and programs especially for an African-American audience was enormous, not just in Memphis but influenced other stations to program similar formats across the country. The 2007 Jus` Blues Music Awards Show proudly honors WDIA Program Director and Host of the Fun Morning Show, Bobby O'Jay, with the Jack "The Rapper" Gibson Radio Pioneer Award on August 16th at The Historical Daisy on Beale Street.

Queenie and the Blue Cats 2.JPGJust ask Queenie and the Blue Cats. Last Sunday May 13, 2007 at the MAMA (Madison Area Music Awards) the much requested group was awarded the Best Blues Album of the Year with their CD Live at Milo's Place.

"It took all of us by suprise", Queenie, who's real name is Susan, told the Chittlin Circuit. "I thought everyone would prefer orginial songs over the standard blues songs that we did on our CD."

Las Vegas Stratosphere Hotel Monday Night Jam Sessions

Huck Daniels
Every Monday evening at 10pm, the show begins. The only difference here at the Las Vegas Stratosphere Hotel (pictured on the right) is that the show is FREE! Two shows are never alike because you never know who will show up.
A week or so ago we interviewed a young lady (Micki Murphy) who performed at the Jam Session, the Chittlin Circuit attended. It just so happens that she is now on tour in China and will be returning sometime in August. The Chittlin Circuit was able to catch up with the host of the famous Monday Night Jam Session, Mr. Huck Daniels. Huck explains how the Jam Sessions got started and where they are going next. Who has been attending and who just might show up at any given Monday night.
As always, you can listen to the complete interview with Mr. Huck Daniels just by clicking the GREEN Playbutton

Huck Daniels

Every Monday evening around 10PM at the Stratosphere Hotel in Las Vegas, Blues man Huck Daniels starts his weekly Jam Session.
Blues veteran Moody Scott invited the Chittlin Circuit Magazine to attend one of Huck's Jam sessions. Huck Daniels has been hosting these Monday Night Jam Sessions for the last 15 years. Every show is different as you can never know who will be attending and willing to display their talents.
The show (April 23, 2007) attended by the Chittlin Circuit Magazine started right on time at 10PM and ended right at 2AM. That means there was 4 hours of NON-Stop Music and the entire show is FREE!
The Show started off with Ron George singing a popular 70's song followed by a tangy Blues Guitar (and band member) Mike Vaughn.
By the way, photos of the complete show are located in our Photo Gallery.
Ms Jordon and Moody Scott did their things in grand fashion.
Ms Avis Ellis did her Tina Turner Revue and if you didn't know better you would have thought Ike and Tina were there in the room.

Lipz Wilson did a good Blues Harp and Ms Micki Murphy (whom we interviewed) keep the mood moving. Ronnie Rose, Bz Soul and Ms Misty Love finished the evening with the audience wanting more.
The Chittlin Circuit was able to catch up with Ms. Micki Murphy for an interview which you can listen to by clicking the Green playbuttonimg
