Versatile. One word that truly describes Sir Charles Jones.
Whether you’re talking about the fans who love his music, the varying distinct styles of his music, the different musical instruments he has mastered, or the many talents he has developed within the music industry -- Versatile. This self taught writer, arranger,
producer and engineer has embraced a genuine passion for music.
Similar to other thriving artists, Sir Charles began his career in the church in Birmingham, Alabama. His father sang with a gospel group called Christian All Stars and his mother has been a minister for thirteen years, so it was almost inevitable that this young musician would become an entertainer. Sir Charles attributes his early success to the attention his high school band director, James Merriweather gave him. “He really brought the music out of me and kept me out of trouble. I learned a lot from him,” says Sir Charles. |

Moore was also a Shelby County Sheriff's deputy since 1994 and served in the fugitive division on the midnight shift, sheriff's department spokesman Steve Shular said. He lived in the Hickory Hill area of Memphis.
"It's a tremendous loss," said colleague and longtime friend Mel DeBerry, who has a late night show at WDIA.
