These are encouraging words that Karen Washington’s father whispered to her just two weeks before he passed away in 1995.
And to this day, she holds to those death bed comments believing that God has elevated her to an upper level despite the trials and tribulations that life has taken her through.

Karen L. Washington is one of South Georgia’s most anointed and favorable women of God female solo artist.
She started singing at a very young age. She traveled with her parents, visiting churches and observing the way they would minister through songs inspired her.

In 1975 Karen formed a family group and named it “The Family Starlites.� The family performed together for many years until her father’s health failed and God called him to glory.
“My father told me to continue singing and let God use me in a mighty way. He said, ‘Most of all, whatever you do in your singing, let it be real.� In 1995 she formed a group called Karen Washington and The New Singing Stars.

They have performed with many diverse artists and they recorded their first CD in 2000 titled “Help Me Make It.� Karen’s dreams came to reality when God connected her with Eric & Lisa Sharper and she has recorded four CDs on their label, Dreams Reality Records (Valdosta, GA) – the most recent one titled “He’s a Wonder.�
